Who is an interior designer?
People have different ideas about what interior designers do. Some people think they make fancy drawings, others think they carry lots of color samples, and some picture them as construction supervisors. But the reality is more complex. A skilled interior designer is more like a boss who manages projects. There are also different jobs in interior design that need to be distinguished.
What is the difference between architects and designers?
Architects design all sorts of buildings, not just houses. They're skilled in math and logic to make sure the buildings are strong and secure.
Interior designers are experts in arranging spaces inside a building. They can do this by just choosing furniture, fabrics, and paint or by doing a bigger renovation project with the help of builders. They make sure the spaces are functional and look good, following building and safety codes. Interior designers are creative with their design skills and have a good sense of space. They work inside the building, making it look attractive and comfortable.
Architects mainly focus on the building construction, making sure it's structurally sound. They may also help with some interior designs but it's not their main responsibility.
